The role of teaching assessment in teaching and learning

New teacher assessment allows supervisors to review and critique your work so that when you are evaluated on your profession, you are able to see where you are in the teaching progress, where you need to progress, and what you really need to work on.

Student assessment is similar to teacher assessment because it is also an evaluation of work done by students and demonstrates where students are succeeding and where they need improvement.
Student self assessment gives students a role in the lesson and gets them more involved in the work. This strategy helps motivate and initiate students drive for learning.

Reflection is a good way for students to recap what they’ve learned in the lesson and also give themselves an evaluation of where they are in the unit and what they need to work on. Reflections are great ways for students to express how they feel and what they have learned about the lesson.

Pre- assessment surveys give students the opportunity to express where they are in the process of learning and express how strongly they feel about a topic of a strategy they may have to use in an upcoming larger assignment.

Chapter 5 Nurturing young innovators: Makerspaces I feel that the main objective in this chapter is for kids to be innovative designers in both the classroom and their homes. I think that makerspaces are important for our students, especially at home because of the effects parents have on their children. Building robots is an important tool for students to experience the technology portion of STEM. I was very inspired by the creativity that the cardboard challenge brought to the students. A step by step instruction guide to build whatever students are interested is a great way to teach, motivate, and inspire. Tasks Before Apps Chapter 3 One idea that I thought is really important is teachers creating surveys for their students. Sites such as, GoogleForms and Kahoot really help motivate and inspire students' to search for what they are interested in.
